After starring in his first major movie role with last year’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes prequel, Tom Blyth has finally found his next high-profile project in the form of the upcoming Watch Dogs movie.

Per Deadline, Blyth will officially be starring opposite Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me) in New Regency’s live-action Watch Dogs movie, based on Ubisoft’s popular video game series. As for Wilde, she will be next be seen in the erotic thriller Babygirl with Nicole Kidman and Antonio Banderas.

What to expect from the Watch Dogs movie?

The Watch Dogs movie will be directed by French filmmaker Mathieu Turi from a screenplay written by Christie LeBlanc and revised by Victoria Bata. The project is being produced by New Regency bosses Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann along with Ubisoft Film & Television’s head of content Margaret Boykin. At the moment, the film currently has no release date or production start date attached to it yet.

Launched in 2014, the original video game follows a hacker or a group of hackers who use the expansive central Operating System network (also called ctOS) to obtain information and control electronics in order to take on corrupt organizations and villainous individuals. It currently has over 50 million players worldwide and has spawn off two game sequels, including 2016’s Watch Dogs 2 and 2020’s Watch Dogs: Legion.
